My friends and colleagues call me Chappy. My family calls me Tuna. My birth certificate says Mark Chaput (pronounced Sheppy), which no one, understandably, gets right on the first try, hence the nicknames.

Born and raised in metro Detroit, but have called LA home for nearly 15 years. It only took two or three years after moving here for people to stop asking me "where the hell are you from, South Dakota?" whenever I spoke. I love a good flick, crackling vinyl, capturing things on camera, editing those captured things, exploring new places without an itinerary, mountains that make you feel small, a well timed joke and food that doesn't come in a soggy to-go bag.
